About You

While my clients come from many walks of life, there are some populations that walk through my door more often than others and tend to resonate with my somatic approach. Here are some of “you” I have come to know and what you have come to work on. If any (or many, as is often the case) of these resonate, I encourage you to reach out.

Your desire to heal your own wounds is fueled by a desire to help others with theirs

Many of my clients are psychotherapists, bodyworkers, doctors, and students in helping and healing professions. You may have already done a great deal of personal work but still find some old trauma getting in the way of your work and life. Or perhaps you just need some help navigating everything being thrown at you lately so you can show up for others as your embodied, regulated self. I consider it such an honor to support healers doing their work in the world, inside and out.

You are experiencing Anxiety and Overwhelm

There are a lot of reasons why you might find yourself experiencing high amounts of anxiety, worry and overwhelm. Anxiety can make it hard to think, make decisions, manage your emotions, and care for yourself and others. I can help you work with overwhelming feelings and body sensations so you have greater access to contentment, ease, and relaxation. Working somatically with anxiety can also help you get unstuck and move into action when needed.

you are seeking trauma recovery and Boundary Work

Sometimes we need more than words to heal. When talking about your experiences feels like too much or seems to go in circles, a somatic approach to counseling can offer you gentle, empowering steps towards reclaiming your body, life and boundaries while managing overwhelm. Developmental trauma at a young age may leave you with no associated traumatic memories but only difficult feelings that are hard to reconcile. Working somatically offers a path forward.

you are going through Grief, Loss, or transition

Whether ongoing, recent, or long ago, experiences of grief, loss, and transition are very overwhelming for our bodies as well as our hearts. Supporting the nervous system through the wide array of thoughts, emotions, and sensations accompanying these events helps us to feel connected and held at times we may feel all alone. From that supported place, we can begin the process of healing.

you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) seeking support

Do you feel continuously overwhelmed due to your sensitive and empathic nature? While your sensitivity may be a part of you, overwhelm doesn’t have to be. I help sensitive and empathic folks learn to regulate their nervous systems, process adverse childhood experiences, and connect with their inner wisdom so their sensitivity can become their strength. My HSP-knowledgeable therapy is based on the work of Elaine Aron. For more on highly sensitive people, visit Elaine Aron’s website, www.hsperson.com.

you are on A Spiritual or
Existential journey

Perhaps you feel called to something yet find yourself unable to answer the call. Perhaps you are wondering what your purpose is or if the life you are living is meaningful and aligned with your values. You might be struggling with big, unanswerable questions or wrestling with uncertainty. Drawing from my background in spiritual counseling and psychosynthesis, I can join you in this wild, wonderful, challenging terrain and help you find your way.

you desire to be in
Right Relationship with your body

What’s your current relationship with your body? Are you able to hear its wisdom? Are you walking around feeling like a talking head? There are slow, careful ways to begin to befriend the bodies we live in, even if we’ve spent a lifetime apart.
Or perhaps you are all too familiar with the discomfort in your body, and you’re looking for a way to bring in ease. I can help you connect with what your body needs to express so you can move towards balance.
